Gawler Blogging Basics & NAC

This Thursday ALIA is coming to Gawler! The event is being held at the TAFE Gawler campus, 43 High St. Gawler, South Australia.

A Blogging Basics 101 workshop is being held from 5 - 6pm followed by the ALIA National Advisory Congress (NAC).

If you have already registered to attend the event, your in-box will have received an invitation to become a author for this blog. We encourage you to make your account active, which will enable you to contribute to this blog.

Tip: Previously, when we have invited people to post, they have experienced problems responding to the e-mail. Often this is due to the computer restrictions placed on the computer system within your work environment. If this occurs attempt to activate your account on a public access area or at home.

Thinking of attending the workshop and NAC event but haven't sent an RSVP? There is still time. Please contact Jeannine Hooper

We look forward to seeing you on Thursday 27th September 2007, 6:00 pm.

Test Post

Test test blah blah test test blah blah

this is the title of the post from the 4th workshop

Content content bad spelling I hate typing with people watching

There's a chill in the air...

Despite this evening's chill, the light rain, the early dark, I'm enjoying this evening's endeavours.

Too Blog or not to Blog

Just a quick entry to see that it works in all colours

EEEk! It works!

I am pleased to know that I can follow directions and find myself in a completely new realm of internet communication. I was an early internet user but have not kept up to date with blogs, YouTube, 2nd Life, etc...it all seems so, so...well, virtual.

I want real. Is that too much to ask from a digital environment?

Looking forward to the workshop tonight,

Cheers, Evalee Smith

Prior to the 4th Blogging workshop...

If you are one of the lucky people attending the booked-out workshop on Wednesday 8 November congratulations. Leading up to the workshop each day we will be posting some suggestions for you to consider prior to attending the workshop.

However, before you start thinking about the content of your blog, lets start with the real basics. Wikipedia link talks about the history of blogs since 1994, and what they have be used for over time.

If you are aware of websites about blogs that others might find useful - why not leave a comment and share your suggestions.
