The real basics...

If you are one of the lucky people attending the booked-out workshop on Wednesday 8 November congratulations. Leading up to the workshop each day we will be posting some suggestions for you to consider prior to attending the workshop.

However, before you start thinking about the content of your blog, lets start with the real basics. Wikipedia link talks about the history of blogs since 1994, and what they have be used for over time.

If you are aware of websites about blogs that others might find useful - why not leave a comment and share your suggestions.

The session is now full. However, if you missed out, but are still interested please contact Fiona Butcher. We are currently looking at developing a repeat of this workshop, due to the numbers of interested people.

First post

ALIA-SA is planning to conduct a "how-to" workshop on creating your own blog or web-log, in November 2006. There are a large number of library-related blogs on the web. For information about other Australian library blogs, Libraries Interact has a great list of links.

Blogs have a variety of uses. For libraries they can assist in the promotion of your library service, and the sharing of information with staff and customers.

This blog has been created as a demonstration of what can be possible.

Once we decide when the session will be - we will post it here!
